Three in One Breed Show – RULES 2010
ALL EXHIBITORS/ TRAINERS – PLEASE READ ALL RULES CAREFULLY
STALL POLICIES
- Horses may be moved into stalls any time after 12:00 noon on Thursday, July 8th, 2010. Shavings will be available on a help yourself basis. NO EARLY ARRIVALS PLEASE.
- If staying over on Sunday evening, all stalls must be vacated and cleaned by 10:00 AM sharp, Monday July 12th
- Alley ways to remain clear. No use of empty stalls for storage, temporary usage, day usage without payment to the Show Secretary.
- Stalls must be booked and paid by July 1st, 2010 at a cost of $15.00 per day.
- Stalls are booked on a first come first serve basis and must be booked in the name of the party responsible for the payment of the stalls.
- Exhibitors who wish to be stabled together must reserve their stalls under the name of the exhibitor/owner.
- A separate stall deposit in the amount of $30.00 (per reserved stall) must accompany entry form. Refundable upon inspection by the stable manager. Stalls are to be completely cleaned of shavings.
- Show Management reserves the right to allocate stalls as required and does not guarantee stall placements.
MEMBERSHIPS
- Show management must inspect breed membership cards or a photocopy. If the exhibitor cannot produce a membership card or a photocopy, they must purchase a new membership and pay the required fee before entering. This fee is non-refundable.
REGISTRATION PAPERS
- A photocopy of registration papers must be attached with all entry forms or be provided to the show office prior to entering.
ENTRIES
- All fees associated with entering classes must accompany the entry form

- All fees are to be paid in Canadian funds. We do not accept Visa or Mastercard.
MAKE ALL CHEQUES PAYABLE TO THE: 3 IN 1 BREED SHOW
- NSF Cheques: There will be a $25.00 charge for all NSF cheques
- Refunds: Will be made to exhibitors who present a copy of a Veterinarians Certificate before the show starts
- Pre-Entry Deadline: July 1st, 2010
- Post Entry: A post-entry fee of $20.00 per horse will be charged (NOTE: PAID PRE-ENTRY OF ONE CLASS will forfeit the post entry fee)
- Post Entering Classes: Classes may be post entered at the show office or at the gate.
REGISTERED BREED CLASSES
- All classes will be run under the current rules and regulations of the breed association class in which the exhibitor has entered.
- Show management reserves the right to combine Jr and Sr horse classes to ensure sufficient entries for point classes upon consultation with the judge and exhibitors in those classes, or as per applicable Association rule book.
- All classes will be subject to cancellation, to be determined by show management for insufficient entries.
- Gate Holds – will not be permitted without show management permission
- Breaks – are indicated in the program but may change at the discretion of show management. All changes will be announced
- APHA and ApHCC “Most Colorful” classes will be prize classes.
- The 3 in 1 AQHA show is subscribed to the NBCQHA Saddle Series
- The 3 in 1 APHA show is sanctioned by the BC Paint Horse Club and qualifies for 2010 BCPHC Provincial Hi Pt Awards.
OPEN CLASSES
- Open classes will be run under the rules and regulations of the American Quarter Horse Association for judging purposes
- Open Classes are open to any breed, registered or non-registered horse/rider combinations
- All Open Classes will be single judged and will not qualify for breed association points.
- Walk/Trot classes will be Prize classes
- Open Classes at the 2009 Three in One Breed Show will be:
Never
Won a Buckle - Non Pro
Reining Class
- Class is reserved for a horse/rider combination who has never won a reining buckle
- A non-pro shall be defined as any person regardless of age who is not currently receiving renumeration directlly or non-directly for showing, training, giving lessons, clinics or assisting in the training of a horse.
- Two handed (optional)
- In the event of a tie, a run off will be required
- Buckle will be awarded for a first placing only
- Modified Pattern - no lead changes
- Open to any horse/rider combination
- The $25.00 cattle charge will be retained by the show management. The total entry fee and frize will be awarded to the 1st place horse.
- Open to any horse/rider combination that has not competed in a full Working Cow Horse Class as of January 1st of the current year.
- Re-run cattle will be used
- Reined work will be modified with no flying lead changes, Cow work will consist of boxing only.
- $45.00 entry fee
- Prizes will be awared up to 3rd place
- Rules - As per Ranch Cutting rules below
- Eligibility - Open to any horse/rider combination who has never competed in any cutting class prior to January 1st of this year.
- $45.00 entry fee
- Prizes will be awarded up to 3rd place.
- Rules - 2:30 minute time limit, two hands, any legal bit, horses can be picked up and set on ends. Penalties for no deep cut, loss of cow, back fence, hot quits, losing of working advantage and roughing cattle. Paid for clean cuts, working in the center of the pen with little or no rein direction. Other scoring rules can be found on the NCHA website.
- Eligibility - Open to any horse/rider combination who has no cutting earnings prior to January 1st of this year.
- $45.00 entry Fee.
- This class will be for warmup purposes only nad will not be judged. This class will run from 6:30 am until 8:00am on Saturday morning. This class is limited to 18 entries, so be sure to get your entry in early. Times will be posted (please be on time) and horses are restricted to a maximum of 5 minutes for each exhibitor's run, regardless of what obstacles are chosen to be worked.
- Class is open to green youth or senior riders, or riders in their first year of showing within the last 5 years.
- No cross entries will be allowed for this horse and rider combination into any other Trail class.
- Restricted to non-pro riders only.
- This class will be for warm up purposes only and will not be judged. Horses will be asked to work both ways of the ring at all 3 gaits.
- Class is open to green youth or senior riders, or riders in their first year of showig within the last 5 years.
- No cross entries will be allowed for this horse and rider combination into any other Hunter Under Saddle Riding Class.
- Restricted to non-pro riders only.
- This class will be for warm up purposes only and will not be judged. Horses will be asked to work both ways of the ring at all 3 gaits.
- Class is open to green youth or senior riders, or riders in their first year of showing within the last 5 years.
- No cross entries will be allowed for this h orse and rider combination into any other Western Pleasure Class.
- Restricted to non-pro riders only.
- Limited to youth 12 years as of January 1, 2010 or under.
- Class is free to enter
- No cross entries for exhibitor in any other riding class.
- Open to any exhibitor/horse combination. Pro and Non-Pros are both eligible for this class.
- Class will be judged under AQHA Showmanship Judging Guidelines
- Prize will be a show halter.
- Reining maneuvers orginated from the moves that a cow horse must use in performing its duties and have been refined to the high level of competition existing today.
- Freestyle Reining not ony provides an opportunity to use these maneuvers creatively, but also to expand them to music by means of choreography. Riders are encouraged to use musical scores which permit them to show the athletic ability of the horse in a crowd appealing way.
- NRHA rules will appyly except where the following rules pre-empt same.
- Required Maneuvers will be defined as follows:
- A minimum of 4 consecutive spins to the right
- A minimum of 4 consecutive spins to the left
- A minimum of 3 stops
- A minimum of 1 lead change from the right to left (Flying or simple; extra credit will be awarded for flying changes).
- A minimum of 1 lead change from the left to right (Flying or simple; extra credit will be awarded for flying changes).
- Exhibitors will only be judged astride.
- Exhibitors are allowed to use two hands (as well as one or no hands) and any bit approved by the NRHA Handbook, including snaffle bits and bosals approved for use in the Snaffle Bit or Hackamore classes.
- Failure to perform all the required maneuvers or failure to complete the performance within the time limite will result in a score of 0
- Additional maneuvers such as rollbacks, backups, speed variations, and non-classical reining maneuvers such as half pass and side pass are appropriate in Freestyle and shall be given appropriate credit.
- Addition repitions of required maneuvers are appropriate, but will only add or subtract from the existing scores already given for the required maneuvers, not as addtional scores.
- Equipment used in the Freestyle must adhere to the following standards.
- All equipment must be non-abusive and humane baed on NRHA Rules and Guidelines.
- Any equipment not specifically covered by or in conflict with the standard equipment guidelines must be non-abusive to the horse.
- Time Limit - A maximum of 4 minutes including any introductions. The time limit will be from the beginning o the music or from the beginiing of the introduction (whichever is first) and will end with the music.
- Costumes will be permited but not required.
- Emphasis is placed on performing the maneuvers to music.
- Props permitted but at no time may hinder the judges' view of the horse. The use of props will not add to the score.
- This class is open to any breed and youth that are under 19 years of age as of January 1, 2010.
- This class will be mandatory for Youth competiing for their Breed Hi-Pt award and will fulfill the reining class requirement.
- The fee for this class will be waived only if youth is paying their breed association Weekend Entry fees.
FUTURITY
CLASSES
- Futurity Classes are reserved for all registered breeds. A photocopy of registration papers must accompany entry form.
- $10.00 of the $60.00 entry fee will be held as office fees with the balance of $50.00 being added to the futurity payout.
- Each Futurity Class will have $300.00 added.
- Futurity Classes at the 2010 Three in One Breed Show will be:

Yearling Halter Futurity
- The Yearling Halter Futurity will be judged under AQHA rules.

Three Year Old Western Pleasure
- Horses to be shown in snaffle bits. No leverage bits are permitted. We will follow AQHA guidelines for permissible snaffles.
- The Three Year Old Western Pleasure Futurity will be judged under AQHA rules.

4 & 5 Year Old Reining Futurity
- Open to any rider who is riding a registered AQHA, APHA and/or APHCC horse.
- A photocopy of the registration papers must accompany the entry form.
- $10.00 of the $60.00 fee will be h eld as an office fee with the balance of the $50.00 being added to the futurity payout.
- The 3 and 4 Year Old Reining Futurity Class will consist of one go-round.
- Riders may ride one handed in a curb or correctional bit or two handed in a hackamore or snaffle bit.
- NRHA rules will be utilized for pattern selection and judging.

TRAIL
CLASSES
- Exhibitors may not enter the ring during or after the set up of the course. A Warm Up trail class on Saturday A.M. will be provided for practice. Refer to the Open/Futurity/Cow horse Entry form to submit your fee for this class should you wish to utilize it.
AWARDS

To be eligible for Hi Pt Awards, exhibitors must declare their desire to participate by checking the appropriate box on the entry forms or by declaring at the show office before Friday July 9th, 9:00PM.
- All Awards for the Three in One Breed Show will be presented 1 hour after the final class of the show.
- To be eligible for a hi-point awards, competitors must compete in a minimum of the following classes of the division they are competing; 1 Halter (halter or showmanship), Trail, 1 Western Class (Western Pleasure or Western Horsemanship), 1 English Class (Hunter Under Saddle or Hunt Seat Equitation) and Reining. Youth exhibitors will be required to meet their reining requirement by entering the Youth All Breed Reining Class (#133). Amateurs can meet their requirement by entering their breed’s Open Reining class. Weekend rates will include the reining class that is required to qualify for the high point in the division chosen.
- APHA and ApHCC “Most Colorful” Classes will not be eligible as a halter class when compiling points towards a Hi-Pt. Award.
- Hi-Point Buckle Awards will be presented to the following divisions;
- APHA - Amateur Division ~ Solid Paint Bred ~ Open Division ~ Youth Division
- APHCC – Amateur Division ~ Open Division ~ Youth Division
- AQHA – Novice Amateur Division ~ Amateur Division ~ Amateur Select Division* ~ Junior Horse Division ~ Senior Horse Division ~ Youth Division ~ Novice Youth Division
*AQHA rules only allow for the Awarding of the Hi-Pt. Amateur Select if there are 3 or more exhibitors in competition for the award.
TEAM
COMPETITION

To be eligible for the Team Competition, exhibitors must declare their desire to participate by checking the appropriate box on the entry forms or by declaring at the show office by Friday July 9th, 9:00PM.
- Competitors will be randomly put into teams of three (3) as determined by the show management. Awards will be given for teams placing 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
POINT
STRUCTURE
- Points for the Team competitions will be calculated based on the individual competitors placing in classes as follows;
- 1st Place – 8 pts
- 2nd Place – 7 pts
- 3rd Place – 6 pts
- 4th Place – 5 pts
- 5th Place – 4 pts
- 6th Place – 3 pts
- 7th Place – 2 pts
- 8th Place – 1 pt
- Points for all of the Breed Association’s Hi-Pt. Awards are based on the following:

DRUG TESTING
- All classes sanctioned by the Three in One Breed Show may be subject to drug testing and will comply with breed association rules and regulations
UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT AND/OR INHUMANE TREATMENT
- When an exhibitor, owner and/or his representative, acting on behalf of the exhibitor is guilty of unsportsmanlike conduct and/or inhumane treatment of a horse while on the show grounds, the show management, at its sole discretion, may suspend such individual(s) from competition and a report will be forwarded to its breed association. No refund of entry fee will be made.
YOUTH
- It is strongly recommended that youth wear ASTM/SEI approved helmets when competing in under saddle events. Where helmets are worn by youth, doing so will not count against them.
GENERAL
- Camping: camping is permitted at a flat rate of $10.00 for the show weekend. There are not designated locations for camping. Exhibitors camping on show locations are asked to choose camping locations that do not interfere with the flow of regular traffic and access to the show arenas by exhibitors and their horses. Please do not use or position yourself near Electrical plug ins unless you have paid for the use of one on your entry form.
- Horse Manure: hay and shavings around stalls from trailers or camper must be removed and properly disposed in manure bins.
DAMAGES
OR LOSSES
- The Three in One Breed Show Management and Show Committee will in no case be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur, and it shall be the condition of entry that each exhibitor shall hold the horse show management blameless for any loss or accident to his horse or horse equipment which may occur from accident, sickness, fire or otherwise. All owners and exhibitors will be responsible for any damage incurred by them or their agents to the barns or properties on the show grounds and will be billed accordingly.
RELEASE
FORM
- The release form on the back of the entry form must be read and signed before showing
DISPUTE RESOLUTION
- Any exhibitor making objection to the awarding of any of the prizes or payouts, shall lodge his or her objection, in writing, using the Dispute Form available at the show office, immediately after the award is made. A deposit of $25.00 must accompany the objection, which is refundable, if the objection is upheld.
- Should any question or dispute arise, which is not provided for in the foregoing rules, the same shall be referred to the show manager who will consult with the show committee, whose decision shall be final.
